The firm of Oscar Heyman & Brothers was founded in 1912 in New York City and has since been a manufacturer of handmade jewelry of the finest quality. Brothers Oscar and Nathan Heyman began their careers as apprentices at a Fabergé workshop in Russia before moving to New York in 1906, where Oscar became the first non-French jeweler employed by Pierre Cartier. Known as the ""jeweler's jeweler,"" the firm's exacting craftsmanship was contracted by prestigious houses including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., and Marcus & Co. One of their most famous achievements was the creation of the necklace for the 69.42-carat Taylor-Burton diamond.
