The London based firm of Carlo & Arthur Giuliano was founded by their Italian-born father, Carlo, in the 1860s. Originally retailing his designs with other jewelers, by 1874, Carlo's business had grown and he was able to set up a shop of his own at 115 Piccadilly. He excelled in producing artistic pieces with a high amount of detail in historic Revivalist styles which featured richly colored enamels and unusual stone combinations. His work attracted royal patronage as well as Pre-Raphaelite artists, who included his designs in some of their paintings and even commissioned jewels for particular artworks. His sons Carlo and Arthur joined him in the business and continued to produce pieces in a similar style after Carlo's death in 1895, at which point the company was renamed Carlo & Arthur Giuliano. The company moved again in 1912 to 48 Knightsbridge before closing two years later.
