A rare Iron Age style antique gold torque of engraved design with reeded terminals, in 14k. Michelsen of Copenhagen. See Charlotte Gere and Judy Rudoe's Jewellery in the Age of Queen Victoria, The British Museum Press, 2010, pg. 438 (plate 432) for an image of a nearly identical necklace as presented by the royal house of Hesse-Kassel to Princess Alexandra on the occasion of her marriage to Prince Albert of Wales in 1863.
